Two Acts
One Set — A living room. A minimal set is needed.
Five Characters — 4 men, 1 woman
A wealthy older man, very much set in his ways, is enjoying the first months of his third marriage to a much younger woman. Life could not be more pleasant until her annoying and somewhat sinister brother shows up for a short visit and shows no signs of ever leaving. It soon becomes evident that there are darker motives involved in everyone's relationship resulting in a murder and a dubious confession.
PAXTON WINFIELD – A distinguished looking man in his early sixties
VANESSA WINFIELD – Paxton's attractive young wife in her early thirties
JIMMY MORGAN – Paxton's brother-in-law. A handsome man in his mid-thirties
DETECTIVE BRIGGS – A seasoned plainclothes detective in his late thirties, early forties
ARTHUR SWANSON – Paxton's accountant. A man in his mid-forties
