By Sam Bobrick & Julie Stein
Two Acts
One Set – A table and two chairs
2 Characters – Sheldon and Mrs. Doris Levine
Just when you thought your family was the sickest on the block, along come Sheldon and his mother. Enter their strange, outrageous world of an all-consuming love-hate relationship that succeeds in giving insanity a good name. Share in the angst, the aggravation, the madness and the mail of two people who although thousands of miles apart, are still too close to each other for their own good.
A thirty-one year old son runs away from his overbearing mother. The play is a series of letters between them as each searches desperately to make sense of their relationship. We are taken to places like Tibet, Bismark, North Dakota, Graceland and Yuma, Arizona. This play is based on the playwrights' book "Sheldon & Mrs. Levine" which sold over 50,000 copies.
